Prof. Jianbin Xu has been a faculty member in the Department of Electronic Engineering at The Chinese University of Hong Kong (CUHK) since 2002, where he currently serves as the Associate Dean (Research) of the Faculty of Engineering and holds the Tam Professor of Engineering Chair.
Prof. Xu has extensive research experience in nanoscience and technology, solid-state electronics physics, and semiconductor optoelectronic devices. He has made significant contributions in micro- and nanoscale characterization, nanoscale thermal transport, MOS gate dielectrics, zinc oxide, organic semiconductor interfaces, graphene, and two-dimensional materials, as well as novel solar cells. He has published over 450 papers, with more than 400 indexed by SCI, and his work has been cited over 10,000 times.He is a Fellow of the Hong Kong Institution of Engineers (HKIE) and IEEE, and a member of the American Physical Society (APS). Currently, he serves as the Secretary-General of the Hong Kong Materials Research Society and Associate Editor of Science Bulletin. He has delivered over 100 invited talks and has reviewed for more than 30 scientific journals, including Nature sub-journals, JACS, Advanced Materials, and ACS Nano.
