Dr. Xiaogang Li is Professor and Director of the National Environmental Corrosion Platform at the University of Science and Technology Beijing, where he leads one of the largest corrosion research groups worldwide. Currently, he serves as Vice President and Secretary General of Chinese Society for Corrosion and Protection. He is also the Chief Scientist of the National Key Basic Research and Development Program (973 Plan) in marine corrosion. In 2011, he was selected to be a Member of the International Corrosion Council. He has received the National Science and Technology Progress Award (Second Prize) in 2009, National Award for Field Science and Technology in 2009, and Shandong Province Science and Technology Award (First Prize) in 2015. Dr. Li has published over 339 papers on SCI and EI journals in the areas of environmental(atmospheric, soil and marine) corrosion and its control, environmental degradation of organic coatings and polymeric materials, stress corrosion cracking, and corrosion modeling and simulation.
