Dr. Cheng-Meng Chen, born in 1985 inZoucheng, Shandong Province, is the member of Youth Innovation PromotionAssociation CAS, Chinese Society of Particuology, China Innovation Alliance ofthe Graphene Industry, the expert of IEC TC113 Technical Committee and vicegroup leader for Characterization and Measurement of Graphene Standard WorkingGroup of China Graphene Standardization Committee. He obtained bachelor degreeand doctorate degree from mineral processing major of China University ofMining and Technology in 2006 and materials science major of ICC,CAS in 2012respectively. In 2010-2011, he studied at the Fritz Haber Institute in the MaxPlanck Society of Germany. Since 2012, Dr. Chen has been the research leader ofGraphene and Renewable Energy Materials, and is committed to the research anddevelopment of advanced carbon materials. In collaboration with enterprise, hehas completed the pilot plant of graphene and supercapacitor active carbon, aswell as demonstration platform of energy storage device. He opened up theinnovation chain of materials, materials, devices and applications. Dr. Chenhas been in charge of more than 20 projects from governments and companies. Hehas published more than 100 SCI papers with over 3500 citations. Dr. Chen held35 patents with 18 being granted, published 1 book at Springer, and directedand participated in 8 standards of international, national, industrial andalliance level. He won the First Prize of China Industry-University-ResearchCollaboration Innovation Achievement Award, First Prize of Tianjin Natural ScienceAwards, Hou Debang Youth Award for Chemical Science and Technology and ‘MorningStar’ Excellent Talent of Beijing Branch, Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc. In2017, Dr. Chen is proud to be recognized as a member of The Innovators Under 35China 2017 by MIT Technology Review.
