Prof.& Dr. Daxiang Cui, is adistinguished professor, Changjiang Scholar, vice-director of National Centerfor Translational Medicine, director of Shanghai Engineering Center forIntelligent Diagnosis and Treatment Instrument, Shanghai Jiao Tong university, hisresearch interests include controlled synthesis and biosafety evaluation ofnanomaterials, nanoparticles-labeling and nano-effects-based ultrasensitivedetection technologies, high efficient drug delivery system and nano-drug.

Up to date, he has published over 280 papersin international peer-reviewed journals such as Advanced Mater., ACs Nano, Nanoletters, Biomaterials, Adv. Fun. Abstract

Graphene and its derivatives' application in the theranostics of diseases is still hotspot. Herein, we reported that my group had done some works associated with graphene and graphene oxides in recent five years. Ultraviolet light irradiated graphenes and opened energy band, and then prepared FET device for ultrasensitive detection of biomarkers; graphene oxides were conjugated with carnosine, resultant carnosine-conjugated graphene oxides were used as immuno-adjuvant to improve immuno-function; graphenes were used as substrate, in situ synthesized gold nanoparticles on graphenes, and then were used to absorb VOCs from breath, combined with Raman spectroscopy, finally realized early gastric cancer prewarning and diagnosis. We also evaluated the biosafety of graphene and graphene oxides, and their application prospects in disease theranostics.
