Feng Miao joined Nanjing University as a Professor of Physics and a Principal Investigator at Nanjing National Laboratory of Microstructures in July 2012. He received his Ph.D. degree in physics from the University of California, Riverside, United States, in 2009. Then he worked with Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, Palo Alto, California, as a research associate for three years. He is currently the Chief Scientist of a National Key Basic Research Program supported by Ministry of Science and Technology of China. Research at Prof. Miao’s group is currently focused on electronic transport properties of two-dimensional (2D) layered materials, and applications for nanoelectronics, including emerging optoelectronic, memory, and computational devices.His awards include the Poe Memorial Award (2009), the China's "Thousand Youth Talents Plan" (2012), and a Jiangsu Young Investigator Award (2014). He published over 40 technical papers including Science, Nature Nanotechnology et. al. (with over 7800 citations), and is the holder of 5 granted and 3 pending US patents.
