Tongbo Sui, Professor, PhD, director general of Sinoma Research Institute and vice president of China Sinoma Int’l Engineering Co. Ltd in Beijing. He joined Sinoma Int’l in May, 2010. Before that he had been engaged in the R&D of special cements and new cementitious materials since 1991 in China Building Materials Academy (CBMA) From March 2006 to April 2010, he worked as a professor and Vice President of CBMA. He also has experience of short term visiting research in 1996 at civil engineering department of UIUC, USA. He has been the co-chair of CSI Task Force 1 - China for Climate Protection & Emission Reduction under CSI, WBCSD since 2011. He is now member of ASTM C01, ACI and senior member of RILEM TC-SCM , etc.
As a professor, he has been focused on the R&D of low energy and low CO2 emission advanced cement based materials. Dr. SUI has presided over 10 China state-supported key research projects in cement and concrete area as well as over 10 international cooperative projects with partners from Australia, France, Norway, and USA etc.
He is the recipient of various awards including national expert for excellent achievement on cement based materials awarded by the State Council in 2005, the 2nd class national prize for technological invention on low energy and low emission high belite cement awarded by the State Council in 2006. He also received award for the outstanding contribution to the technology for cement and concrete sustainability at Seville, Spain in 2009 by international committee of former CANMET/ACI Council.
