Xuebing Hu, Professor, Doctoralsupervisor, Candidate of Jiangxi Province's BaiQianWan Talents Program, JiangxiProvincial Natural Science Foundation Distinguished Youth Fund recipient. In 2014,he graduated from the Shanghai Institute of Ceramics, Chinese Academy ofSciences, and now works at Jingdezhen Ceramic University. In 2008 and 2017, heengaged in academic research at European Membrane Institute in France andNottingham University in UK. He has been engaged in functional graphenematerials and advanced inorganic membrane technology for environmental andenergy applications. He has hosted many projects, including National NaturalScience Foundation of China and Jiangxi Youth Science Foundation. He haspublished 82 academic papers and authorized 21 national invention patents.

Abstract


Superhydrophobicmaterials have attracted extensive attention and own a widespread application prospect in different domains owing to their exceptional waterproofness. Herein, based on thecritical challenges of current superhydrophobic materials, such as lowmechanical strength and heat resistance, a strategy of 1D/2D hybridization and enhancementis proposed, and a new high-performance graphene superhydrophobic coating isdeveloped through the design of surface micro- and nanostructures and the revealingof the structure-property relationship. The coating has excellentchemical/mechanical durability and heat resistance, and at the same time, itcan be strongly bonded with metals, organic and inorganic materials, and iseasy to produce on a large scale. The eco-friendly and cost-effective graphene superhydrophobiccoating has demonstrated significant competitive advantages in applicationssuch as self-cleaning, anti-fogging, anti-icing, and corrosion prevention.
