Jinfeng Leng is the professor and PhD supervisor of the Nanjing Tech University, the Leading Talent of Industry in Jinan, the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Talents of Kunshan and the committee member of CGIA. She has dedicated in the basic theorical researches and applications in metal matrix composites for over 20 years, and leads the earliest group in the over tons production of nano particles reinforced aluminum matrix composites by semi continuous casting technology. She led 3 NSFC projects, over 10 provincial and national defense projects, and over 20 industry-university-institute cooperation projects. She has published over 100 academic papers in Scripta Materialia and other magazines. She authorized over 40 technology invention patents, including 2 technology invention patents of USPTO, and 7 patents have achieved industry-university-institute transformation. She laid out 3 group standards in graphene as the main writer, and participated in the publication of “The Past and Present of Graphene” and other two monographs. In the past two years, she was granted “China Graphene Industry Innovation Award of 2022”, the second prize of “Shandong Electronics Society Science and Technology Award of 2022” and the first prize “Shandong Electronics Society Technology Invention Award of 2021”.

Abstract

Aim to solve the inverted relationship between the strength and plasticity, achieve the multiscale microstructure refinement of grains, grain boundary phases and nano particles, significantly improve the strength and plasticity, and solve the difficulties of low fatigue resistance, low formability and productivity in high alloying aluminum alloys by introducing nano particles, designing compositions of alloys, and optimizing the melting and heat treatment processes. In once melting, 2-30 tons multi serials nano particles reinforced aluminum matrix composites ingots with diameter in 800mm and length in 6000mm can be made. The ultimate tensile strength and yield strength of aluminum matrix composites improve significantly, combined with high plasticity, impact toughness and fatigue resistance. Aluminum matrix composites in this project possess advantages of low cost, high efficiency and stability, which are primarily used in new energy vehicles, railway transportation, military industry and aerospace.
